good news, bad news
the good news is sonny is home safe and sound. it's almost like he never left. it's good to have an always cheerful science officer in the house. he turned down the idea of being promoted to sub commander. he puts his faith in science. unfortunately, i'm a cynic and i've put my faith in human greed and intolerance but that's another story. the world needs more science officers and fewer military men. so it goes.
the science officer fixed my computer problems very quickly and explained what he did. things operate differently now but i didn't have the heart to tell him that i didn't have a clue what he was talking about. i'll wait a few days and pretend that i forgot how things work and ask him to explain it again.
now the bad news. the black russian has a flat tire. i took the tire off and determined that the tube can't be fixed. the leak is along a seam and i've never had any luck patching a leak in a seam. worse yet, the rubber liner that prevents the tube from getting damaged from the spoke anchors is shot, kaput, falling apart. i washed the hole deal this morning and it's drying in the sun. when it's dry i'll try and jerry rig a new liner. then tomorrow it's off to the store for a new inner tube.
if all goes well, the tube will pop in and i'll ride the red rocket to the gas station with the black russian's wheel under my arm and get some air.
with any luck i'll be like willie nelson: "on the road again"

bicycles...the final frontier!
I highly reccomend "Thorn resistant" innertubes...Oh sure, they cost a few more Sheckels, but they really work!...
Unless you're talkin' about something else,...Then,..Nevermind.

Sonny's home! Now all the lectric stuff will start behaving again.
I once used friction tape to make a new rim liner for one of my bikes. You could also cut a strip of the old innertube to use.
Onething I really miss is the Pontaic Transport van we had. It had a built in air pump. It was nice check the tire pressure and pump it up without ever going anywhere.

Um, attempt to repair, I mean.
