bob dylan - modern times

i picked up a copy of dylan's modern times yesterday. i had read several reviews on the album and decided to throw in my two bits worth.

firstly, i think most music critics are a pain in the ass. the stuff they write is more a tribute to themselves than an honest review of the material they writing about. before boring anyone to death here is my review:

i like it!

that was easy. back to the critics. these wonderful people tend to over analyze and complicate things are not going to affect the quality of life on earth. i bought "time out of mind" when it was first released and thought it was so so. but the more i listened to it the more i liked it. i think this was due to the fact i got over my expectations and just took the album for what is was rather than what i wanted it to be. when it was first released, it got mixed reviews from the critics but is now referred to as a masterpiece. it seems the critics changed their tune after the commercial success and grammy wins.

modern times is easy on the senses and i think it's a excellent reflection of a 65 year old man compared to the shit mick jagger and the stones put out these days. if you accept bob for what he is in 2006 and don't go looking for the messiah many people thought he was in the 60's you should like this album. after all he's just a song and dance man and this album provides some nice dancing music.

Thanks for the tip Leo, I was at work today and saw a review in a magazine on this. I love Bob's music before his head injury. I went to a concert two summer ago's and he sucked. He was doing his version of rap.

My daughter Amy is his biggest fan. She grew up listening to him on my record player.

I am going out this evening and I will pick up his new CD.
    Thanks for the tip.

Mick the dizzick is still trying to be in his thirties. He and the band look like they were brought back from the dead, not looking so greatful I might add.

I just took a little visit to The Rapture Index...felt very uncomfortable with some of the stuff I was reading.

Where in heaven did you find this sight?

    One visit was enough.
